PHP Web Application Developer

VR Software is currently seeking experienced PHP developers with expertise in MVC frameworks (such as Symfony), MySQL, JavaScript, XML, SOAP and object oriented programming. Candidates must possess strong communication and organizational skills, as well as a fundamental understanding of Agile development methodologies. Experience using development tools such as Zend Studio and Subversion is preferred. Knowledge of Linux and Apache administration would be helpful but not essential. Candidates should provide links to online codes examples with their resume or be prepared to provide examples when asked.
Primary Duties and responsibilities
• Implement programming solutions that meet application requirements
• Participate in weekly team meetings that will focus on current and future development efforts
• Test and debug application code
• Maintain a unique application development environment
• Learn new supporting technologies when necessary
• Review code developed by peers
• Use Subversion to manage code repositories
• Document programming solutions
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
• BS in computer science or equivalent experience
• Ability to respond quickly to, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues
• STRONG object oriented programming skills a must
• Proven written and verbal communications skills, including an ability to provide a synopsis to management
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently
