We build, develop and support web-communities for clients that wish to create and grow a large web-community that reaches over the 1,600,000 users mark. We have specialist knowledge and proven experience of meeting the unique demands of heavy-traffic and high-load web-platforms: scalable systems that serve over 170 million page views per month and deliver web-applications to over 14,000 concurrent users.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and innovative, good at “getting things done”, and have experience using social networking/dating websites.
What you'll be doing:
* Designing and implement new features/projects on your own, as well as building on existing features of our different websites.
* From conception through to implementation, you’ll be writing code used by thousands of people every day.
* Working well within the The NetCircle team to help improve our products.
Requirements:
* Excellent knowledge of object-oriented PHP
* Deep knowledge in SQL
* Sound knowledge in configuring Apache, Linux
* Understanding of how the web works, from low to high levels
* Familiarity with a wide range of relevant technologies and web standards
* Flexibility: we are medium sized company and we move quickly
* Must be able to communicate in English
Pluses:
* Experience with PHP frameworks (e.g. symfony)
* Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL
* Knowledge in JavaScript, DOM, Ajax
* Skills in HTML and CSS
