We are a integrated marketing agency based in the North of England and are looking to outsource a medium sized website for a bathroom manufacturer and distributor based in the UK.
The website is aimed at the end users who will be looking to purchase products through a network of resellers/showrooms.
The site is to be built in PHP using Symfony, with a MySQL database. There needs to be an administration area to allow the client to maintain the website themselves in future.
The content, design, site map and product information (spreadsheet of products and pictures) will be provided along with the job brief.
The key areas of the website are as follows, although full details are included in the site map and brief:
• Showroom locator, using Google maps and custom markers
• Contact form and brochure request form (with data for the latter to be downloadable as a CSV file)
• Latest News
• Standard content pages, such as 'About Us', 'Returns' etc.
• Lifetime Product Guarantee registration form
• Product catalogue, showcasing products with multiple pictures and downloadable PDF information (will be provided). This section is not ecommerce.
• Spare parts, which should be linked to products and are available to buy online.
Ecommerce facilities will be provided by Protx, using their VSP Server product.
The website administration needs to provide the following facilities:
• Download brochure requests as a CSV file
• Manage users and permissions (such as who can access orders etc)
• Basic file sharing space, to allow users to upload and access company information and documents (such as PDF order forms etc)
• Manage news articles
• Download CSV of guarantee registrations
• View web orders
• Generate sales reports and download report data as CSV files
• Edit and maintain the list of showrooms, including the Google Maps location
• Manage product database, including product pictures, downloads and spare parts.
The design is focused on a minimal and clean theme, so it isn't going to be overly complicated. The website is to be further managed in-house and content updated and management will be done by the client.
